Using the pessaries

The vaginal suppositories are solid preparations, bullet-shaped to be inserted into the vagina. They can be put through the fingers or may be accompanied by an applicator. They are typically prepared from a solid vegetable oil containing the active ingredient. The drug is gradually released into the vagina as the ovule melts at body temperature.

  • Wash your hands.
  • Remove the egg from its packaging (if it exists).
  • If you include an applicator, put the egg in the hole at the end.
  • Sit or lie down with legs bent and apart.
  • Place the egg slowly by applicator or fingers in as comfortably as possible.
  • If an applicator is used, push the plunger to release the egg and remove the applicator from the vagina.
  • Wash your hands again.
Other tips
  • Do not use if pregnant applicator. If you are pregnant, insert the egg with your fingers.
  • Once inside the vagina, the egg could melt and drip out of it. You can find more comfortable to insert before going to bed at night. If set the day, remember to wear pads to avoid staining clothes.
  • Treatment should be continued until the end, even if it means putting them over the period. In this case compresses be used instead of buffers.
  • Some eggs can damage the diaphragms and condoms , making them ineffective as contraceptives. Instructions on the box or prospectus to see if the case should always be read.
  • EXPIRY eggs should never be used after its expiration. Follow the instructions supplied with the package.
  • STORAGE should be stored in cool, dry place.
  • Medication should always be kept out of reach of children.
  • If the insertion of an egg is missed, it should be done as soon as possible and return to normal rhythm.
  • Should read medication instructions and follow the doctor's instructions.
  • The eggs are exclusively for insertion into the vagina and should not be eaten.
  • If an above-indicated dose is taken must be reported to the doctor or pharmacist.
